Do I need a referral for a GP Mental Health Care Plan?
No referral is required. Simply book an appointment with one of our GPs, who will assess your needs and determine eligibility for a Mental Health Care Plan.
Are mental health consultations covered by Medicare?
Some mental health services, including consultations related to a Mental Health Care Plan, may be Medicare-rebatable. Additional costs may apply—our reception team can provide full details.
Can I see a GP for mental health without starting medication?
Absolutely. Medication is only one option. Many patients benefit from counselling, lifestyle changes, or referral to allied mental health providers.
How long is a mental health appointment?
Mental health consultations typically require a longer appointment to allow time for discussion, assessment, and planning. We recommend booking a long consultation.
Is my mental health information kept confidential?
Yes. All mental health discussions and records are strictly confidential and handled according to Australian privacy and medical standards.
