Family Medicine involves the provision of comprehensive primary healthcare across all ages, genders, diseases, and conditions. Our GPs provide holistic and continuing care for the individual, with an emphasis on disease prevention and health promotion. Our focus on family medicine plays a pivotal role in helping manage your family’s overall health and well-being.
A holistic approach to health care involves consideration of one’s physical, social, spiritual, and mental health. Our GPs exercise the utmost care and consideration in their provision of mental health care to our patients. Mental health care may include medication management, regular counseling, preparation and ongoing management of a GP mental health care plan, and referral to allied mental health providers.
Women’s health has a strong focus on preventative care in managing a woman’s physical and emotional wellbeing. WCFM provides a range of preventative care services, including breast checks, referral for mammography, cervical screening, and screening for sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Our GPs also provide a range of women’s health services, such as birth control management, Implanon and IUD insertion and removal, family planning, fertility counseling, pregnancy testing, and menopausal advice and management.
Immunization protects against a range of preventable diseases and infections. Our clinic nurse provides childhood immunizations as per the Australian Immunisation schedule and can provide catch up immunizations for adolescents who may have missed their scheduled vaccinations. Our GPs also provide up-to-date travel information and education, as well as required travel vaccinations. There are a select number of vaccines that are subsidized by the Australian Government for certain populations.

Men’s health has a strong focus on preventative care in managing a man’s overall wellbeing. WCFM provides a number of preventative care services, such as prostate screening, and screening for sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Our GPs also provide a range of men’s health services, such as family planning options, sexual health counseling, and men’s health checks.
Travel medicine is dedicated to the health of those who travel to overseas countries. The World Health Organisation (WHO) is an international body that provides world-wide travel recommendations, while Smart traveler provides Australians with the latest information and advice for safe overseas travel. Our GPs provide up-to-date travel information and education, as well as required travel vaccinations. Our practice is also one of a select few clinics that are accredited to provide the Yellow Fever (Stamaril) vaccination.
Both amateur and professional athletes may benefit from sports medicine in order to optimise their performance. Our GPs can assist with injury treatment and prevention, rehabilitation counseling, and provide exercise and nutritional advice. We also work closely with allied health providers, including physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, rehabilitation physicians, and dieticians/nutritionists.
Chronic Disease & GP Managed Care Plans
Patients living with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, arthritis, and chronic pain can be further supported with the implementation of a GP managed care plan. We provide comprehensive and individualized care plans that ensure all aspects of our patients’ chronic health conditions are identified and managed. Our GPs also work closely with our patients to develop and work towards achievable goals concerning their chronic health conditions. Some care plan patients are eligible for referral to allied health providers at a subsidized cost.
Children's Health Checks
Children’s Health Checks play an important role in monitoring a child’s development and developmental milestones. WCFM provide Healthy Kids Checks for 3-4-year-olds, so as to gather a child’s health information and identify any potential health issues. Healthy Kids Checks assess a child’s height and weight, eyesight, hearing, oral health, toilet habits, eating habits, motor skills, and speech and language development. Our clinic nurse can also provide childhood immunizations as per the Australian Immunisation schedule.
45-49 Health Assessment – This comprehensive health check is recommended for all people between 45 and 49 years of age. People within this age range may be at an increased risk of developing a range of chronic health conditions. This health assessment can assist patients to make the lifestyle changes required to prevent or delay the onset of chronic illness. The health check may assess one’s nutrition, alcohol consumption, physical activity, mood, family history, Blood pressure, weight, and blood pathology. This health assessment is a bulk-billed service provided in conjunction with our clinic nurse and treating doctor.
75+ Health assessment – This is a comprehensive annual health check, recommended for all people aged over 75 years. This health assessment identifies potential health issues and intervention strategies to optimize the overall quality of life. The health check may assess one’s lifestyle, mobility, medication, nutrition, physical activity, safety in the home, care arrangements, and social support. This health assessment is a bulk-billed service provided in conjunction with our clinic nurse and treating doctor.
Occupational Medicine & WorkCover Consultations
Occupational medicine is primarily concerned with the treatment and prevention of illness and disease in the workplace. Doctors specializing in occupational medicine aim to ensure that high standards of health and safety at work are maintained. Our GPs provide ongoing treatment, management, and prevention of workplace injuries and illnesses, as well as return to work planning, pre-employment medicals, and WorkCover consultations.
