Dr A. Basseer Jeeawody PhD MEd BA (Hons) MAPS MAIPC Consultant Psychologist (Counselling, Psychotherapy, WorkCover, Personal and Professional Coaching, Executive Coaching, Mentoring)

Dr Basseer is a Consultant Psychologist and has a PhD in Mental Health (Australia), a Master’s degree in Education (Australia), BA (Hons)Psychology (UK), and is an Accredited Executive Coach (Australia), a Member of the Australian Psychological Society, and a Member of the Australian Institute of Professional Coaches. Dr Basseer brings a broad dimension to Counselling, Therapy, Personal and Professional development, Coaching, Executive Coaching, WorkCover assessment, and court reporting. Dr Basseer is aware that every therapy has distinctive ways in which it achieves its aims and that different models are appropriate for use with different person’s needs. As each person’s needs evolve during therapy the use of knowledge, skills and principles from different psychotherapeutic approaches become essential. Dr Basseer uses a pluralistic approach – the integration of different set of strategies and therapeutic models, which is of benefit to a person with simple to complex challenging needs.

Dr Basseer works with all age group from eight years old onwards and individuals and couples with different mental health and emotional wellbeing challenges. Dr Basseer has an in-depth understanding of personal, professional and psychological needs of individuals, groups, and leaders in organisations. He has worked in a variety of international, national and regional settings, including private and community based organisations. Dr Basseer values establishing a safe, professional, and supportive therapeutic relationship and adopts a collaborative approach. He is multilingual (English, French, Hindi, Creole), highly articulate and an effective communicator, recognised as a Creative Leader, Strategist, Maximiser and a Driver. As an ex-Foundation President of the Multicultural Council in regional Australia and the Dean for international programs, Faculty of Health. at an Australian University, he has experiences with multicultural, multinational and Indigenous communities.
